Athos Devotional Cabinet
A handmade cabinet for private devotion, drawing on 17th–18th century European cabinetry and the Orthodox triptych tradition. Closed, it reads as a finely proportioned piece of furniture; opened, it reveals a richly gilded devotional interior.
Description
The exterior combines ebonised timber with book-matched movingui veneer, fine inlay and antique-bronze hardware. The interior houses a hand-painted Orthodox icon triptych against a gilded background, with a discreet drawer below for prayer books, candles and personal keepsakes.
