Ipanema Rosewood Chest of Drawers
A Brazilian 1950s-inspired chest of drawers combining richly figured rosewood surfaces, four uninterrupted drawer fronts and narrow brass-toned horizontal reveals. Slender tapered legs keep the substantial cabinet visually light.
Description
The striking book-matched figure of the timber provides nearly all the ornament. Four broad drawers are set within a clean rectangular carcass and divided by fine brass-toned rails that double as discreet finger pulls. A gently projecting top and dark, splayed tapered legs complete the restrained mid-century silhouette. Its proportion and polished timber make it suitable for a bedroom, dressing room or contemporary living space.
Historical Reference
Inspired by the expressive timber furniture of mid-twentieth-century Brazil, particularly the 1950s. This is a contemporary KIRSANOV interpretation, not a copy attributed to a named designer.
Dimensions
Final dimensions to be developed for the commission.
Materials
Richly figured rosewood, with species and legal sourcing to be confirmed; selected stable figured panels or veneer where appropriate, brass-toned metal rails, and a dark hardwood tapered-leg underframe. Final finish and metal specification subject to maker approval.
Construction
Four full-width drawers with properly constructed hardwood drawer boxes and carefully aligned fronts. Concealed, serviceable runners, durable metal finger-pull rails and a stable, well-jointed carcass to be agreed during manufacture.
Customisation
Timber selection, drawer interiors, dimensions, underframe finish and brass-toned details can be tailored to the commission.
